Town Baths

The Town Baths of Colonia Ulpia Traiana resembled a palace in many respects. The well preserved remains of their foundation walls, pools, heating ducts and fireplaces can be visited under a protective building whose outer shape reflects the fascinating dimensions of the antique building.

The baths were primarily used for relaxation and personal hygiene. Moreover, they had an important social function – this is where the Romans met, chatted, cut deals and made political decisions. more
